Built foundational regulatory capacity ahead of the transition using Solvency II principles.
Challenge
As the regulator prepared for the introduction of Risk-Based Capitalisation, the technical committee required a clear conceptual and methodological foundation in the new regime.
Approach
Delivered structured training on Introduction to Risk-Based Capitalisation, grounded in Solvency II methodology. Sessions covered core principles, risk modules, capital calculation approaches and the implications for supervision and industry readiness.
Outcomes
- Strengthened the technical knowledge base within the regulatory body
- Prepared the committee for the design and implementation of the forthcoming capital framework
- Capability built at the centre of Nigeria’s insurance regulation
